Overview

The Greensmith dess permits utilities to load-shift across time and customers to optimize regional and aggregate energy demand loads for more efficient energy management, reduction in costs, and increased energy distribution reliability. By storing excess electricity at night and using it during the daytime peaks, the unit can shift more than 10KWh of load daily.

The electric power industry has been under increasing pressure from regulators and institutional investors to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions per KWh. Regional initiatives have emerged in the Northeast and the West Coast, e.g. the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (rggi) that sets goals for several New England and Mid-Atlantic states to significantly reduce greenhouse gas initiatives. These and other efforts will drive more efficient use of existing generation plant, as well as encourage the use of renewable energy sources.

Easily Integrated

Controlled by the utility, the Greensmith DESS is transparent to the end user of electricity and does not require consumer behavior change. The unit is very low maintenance and can be operated for years. The battery unit is completely safe and non-volatile and since installation occurs outside of the end-users building, there is a reduced concern for special needs.

Savings Benefits

Our product flattens the demand curve through peak-load shifting, saving resources and cutting cost. Greensmith will work with each utility customer in reviewing economic opportunities associated with dess including load shifting, spinning reserve, reducing or containing investments in generation plant and transmission infrastructure.

Green for our Future

Not only does the Greensmith dess help ensure carbon footprint reduction, it also reports on carbon footprints. Even more, our system reduces ghg’s and other emissions.
