Greensmith’s BOS3 has redundant battery safety features built-in. The temperature of each battery cell is individually monitored in real-time and compared to a pre-set 70 degree Celsius limit, well below the temperature safety threshold for Li-ion batteries. If this limit is triggered, the BOS3 will automatically stop charge or discharge operations in milliseconds and DC contacts are opened to halt current flow. Thus, the system is protected against current, voltage, and temperature faults.
These solutions mean less on-site monitoring and maintenance work for the system owner. The BOS3 is programmed to perform self-maintenance on the battery system, performing charge/discharge cycling to preserve battery health.
Additionally, the out-of-box solution and lower voltage system ratings allow less-specialized personnel to work with the Greensmith solutions.
