“Ancillary Services” are any services necessary to support the delivery of reliable electricity from utilities to consumers. Functionally, this means that utilities and/or System Operators must constantly match supply and demand on the grid.
Grid operators can use Greensmith systems to rapidly respond to power fluctuations. These operating reserves are traditionally provided by governing fossil resources, which unfortunately make these resources run at a less efficient point on most power curves.
