JOHN JUNG


As CEO, John sets the strategic vision for Greensmith and drives operational results to achieve growth and success of the company.  John joined the team in early 2009 and brings over 16 years of technology start-up and strategy consulting experience in multiple vertical sectors including the electric utility industry.  Prior to Greensmith, John held C-level roles at four venture capital-backed technology companies, including Pantellos, a B2B electronic marketplace serving 21 of the 25 largest electric utilities in North America.

 

John also served as a senior strategy consultant for A.T. Kearney and Braxton Associates in the areas of corporate strategy, business unit strategy, technology strategy and portfolio growth strategy.   John holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario.

SEN ZHANG


As Vice President of Engineering, Sen leads all R&D, design, and production activities at Greensmith. He is the co-author on Greensmith’s patent for the Battery Operating System.  With over 18 years of experience in software design and development, Sen has delivered ground-breaking technology products in Information System Design, Web Services, Cloud Computing, and Network Security.

He has previous start-up experience as Co-Founder and CEO of eXcentric Works, specializing in pure high-performance XML, Web Service and SOA solutions.  He also worked with start-up Tarari Inc. and continued as Engineering Manager at LSI when they acquired Tatari in 2007 for $85 million.  Sen holds two M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering Arizona State University.

MATT WEAVER


Matt Weaver brings over 20 years of engineering experience to Greensmith, with a specialty in control system hardware and software for power electronics applications.  While employed at Westinghouse and later Siemens, he worked on some of the largest grid-connected inverters ever built.  He has also worked at smaller companies such as Satcon and Active Power, where he developed control systems for alternative energy storage methods, including flywheel, thermal, and compressed air technologies.

In addition to his work with power electronics, he has also created hardware and software for other applications, such as avionics and robotics, as well as for U.S. government intelligence agencies.  He holds on MS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio University.

BRYAN WAKEFIELD


Bryan manages finance, human resources, legal, and risk management for Greensmith.  Bryan began his career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen.  He then moved on to progressive roles in organizations at various stages of market maturity, including start-up companies and well-established market leaders.

 

He holds BS and MS degrees in Accounting and an MS in Economics from East Carolina University.

CHRIS CUTHBERT


Chris joined Greensmith in 2009 and became  Director of Operations in May of 2010. Chris brings over 20 years of operations management and field experience in the electrical and construction industries, both with national companies and as a business owner. Chris has played an integral part in the design, development and deployment of the Greensmith systems.

KATE REIMER


Kate manages Greensmith’s marketing and outreach activities.  Prior to Greensmith, she worked for Automated Demand Response start-up, RTP Controls in the Portland area. She previously worked at Pacific Gas & Electric Company in San Francisco, where she focused on utility-scale renewable energy procurement and development in California.

Kate holds a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley and an MS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University.
